Mirza Enamul Husain, fondly referred to as Sabu, boasts a multitude of achievements. He entered the world in 1954 within the walls of the storied Mirza Mahal in Daulatpur, Khulna, Bangladesh. His upbringing took place in a residence previously owned by the British Deputy Magistrate, the late Mirza Ibrahim Hossain. Such an environment, rich in historical and cultural significance, surely shaped his ensuing journey.

Mirza Enamul Husain Sabu’s educational journey began at Daulatpur Mohsin High School, a well-respected institution in his hometown. His thirst for knowledge then led him to Govt. B.L. University College, Khulna, where he further honed his skills and broadened his horizons. His academic pursuits didn’t stop there, as he went on to study at the University of Rajshahi, one of the largest and most prestigious universities in Bangladesh.

After completing his education, Mirza Enamul Husain Sabu began his professional career at Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the national airline of Bangladesh. In his role as an IT manager, he was instrumental in upholding the airline’s technological framework, guaranteeing efficient operations and aiding in the company’s achievements. From 2009 to the subsequent five years, Mirza Enamul Husain Sabu served as the Vice President of the Bangladesh Chess Federation, a tenure during which Bangladesh took part in the World Chess Olympiad in Siberia.

In 1979, Mirza Enamul Husain Sabu wed Shamima Husain, affectionately called Shammi. They have two children. Their daughter, Soheli Mirza, known as Disha, has emulated her father’s success in the corporate sector and is married to the late Anwar Ziad. She serves as the AVP at Mutual Trust Bank PLC, reflecting her competence and commitment. Their son, Mirza Sabbir Husain, pursues a dual career; he is employed at Social Islami Bank PLC and is a professional photographer, expressing his artistic flair, and is married to Rizwana Islam Mirza, the Owner & Creative Head of Glamzar Events.

Mirza Enamul Husain Sabu exemplifies his commitment to social service in his role as chairman of the Mirza Ibrahim and Begum Hazera Fund in Khulna. Founded by his sister, Dr. Hosne Ara Haq Pinu, the fund awards scholarships to deserving students, enabling them to fulfill their academic goals and build a bright future.
